Are there any Extras?
We aim to ensure that Group Organisers know exactly what they are paying before they arrive. Our prices are clearly laid out and anything which may affect the price after booking is laid out below.
We have a duvet and pillow on each bed.
1 We encourage our groups to bring their own duvet cover, sheet, pillowcase and towels. This is not only going to save you money, but is also greener because it reduces the need for deliveries and heavy duty linen cleaning.
2 If you bring sleeping bags, you will need to bring a pillowcase and towels
3 We can have a full pack of hired linen (bedding and towels) delivered, but please note this must be ordered at least 3 weeks in advance to allow for delivery and at £6.50 per pack it works out expensive for short stays.
Cooking, hot water, heat and lighting costs are included in your bed price. As a Green business, we would encourage sweaters and warm clothes to be worn in cooler weather, and the doors and windows closed, before a request for heating is made. As Sir Ranulph Fiennes once said, “There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.”
We are usually able to arrange an evening meal which is aimed at keeping the work, planning and cost down for organisers – it is not a ‘Gourmet Option!’ For more information please check out our Groceries page.
That Special Meal – Fine Dining
Some groups want to splash out on a really good meal. For that, we have the perfect partner in Good Highland Food. Mike cooks very special food and you can enjoy a feast worthy of a king knowing that you have not had to pay for a castle! He can do anything from a barbeque or a 5 course meal and all brought to you with no need to travel.
1 Damage/Cleaning Charges: Levied if necessary after a full check has been carried out. Some charges are subject to a 10% administration fee.
2 Cleaning: per hour (if required on handover) £13.00
3 Linen: Any duvet used without a cover has to be cleaned @ £15.00.
4 Keys: per lost key £7.50
WiFi – 4G, BT Openzone & Phone
Our property has 4G and also has BT Openzone. BT internet customers can enable their own Home Hub to allow external access (this is quite safe) and you will get free wi-fi when out and about and here at Abernethy Bunkhouse.
Group leaders should request the network key for access from us on arrival. Due to bandwidth restrictions, we advise that there should be only a couple of users within each group, or you will find access slow!
There is a Line-in only telephone which can be used for emergency calls out only. To call in, the number is +44 (0) 1479 821 117
