Booking Conditions

We expect all Group Organisers to ensure the entire group are made aware of our rules. There really are not many; most are simply good manners! Perhaps you would like to download a copy for your file.

1 Arrival and Departure -The Proprietors expect you to vacate the house by 10 am on the day of departure, and arrival time should not be before 4pm. However, both these times may be changed by prior arrangement.

2 Booking Deposit – The booking will be considered as confirmed only when the 20% non-refundable deposit has been received. We allow a short period for leaders to consult with their committee, funding agents, or whatever, but after that  date, as shown on the provisional contract, we will continue to market the property. Full payment must be made at least 28 days prior to arrival. No responsibility will be taken by Abernethy Bunkhouses for delays in postage or carriage.

3 Cancellation – If cancellation is necessary, please notify us as a matter of urgency. We will try to arrange to re-let the house for you, but will not be held responsible for so doing. If the cancellation is within 28 days, then you will be held responsible for the full balance due for the period held. For bookings in July, August and September, the cancellation fees will be as follows: cancellation within 6 months – 40% of the full accommodation booking; within 5 months – 50%; 4 months – 60%; 3 months – 75% and within 2 months the full balance will be due.

4 Insurance – All groups are strongly advised to take out adequate holiday insurance against cancellation, damage to baggage, loss and/or damage to property etc.

5 Availability – The booking is made entirely on the understanding that the property will be placed at your disposal for the dates stated. If there is any reason why this should not be possible, through circumstances beyond the control of the Proprietors (eg fire, theft or damage) we cannot guarantee to provide alternative accommodation, in which case all monies will be refunded to you in full, and you will thereafter, have no further claim against the Proprietors. The Proprietors reserve the right to alter or delete amenities or facilities or any part of the programme of activities without prior notice. The Proprietors retain the right to enter all parts of the building at any time, to ensure that cleanliness is preserved and routine maintenance may be carried out.

6 Admission and Eviction – The Proprietors reserve the right to refuse admission, or to evict persons for any just reason. Please ensure that all group members fully understand the rules of the property before arrival.

7 Cleanliness – It is your responsibility to ensure that the properties, including their surrounding areas are kept clean during you stay. If at any time the Proprietors feel that litter, dirt or grease may become a problem then they reserve the right to bring in cleaners and the charge will be levied accordingly at the current rate. If it is deemed necessary, then professional cleaners may need to be brought in for carpets etc..

8 Noise – The neighbours are very close – particularly those in the cottage next door! Please remember that you may wish to party, but their bedroom is only just a pane of glass away! Please ensure that you are all inside by 11pm with the doors and windows closed. Even a couple of people laughing loudly can be a big noise if you are trying to sleep! It is, as I say above, only good manners!

9 Vehicles and Personal Property – The Proprietors will not be held responsible for any loss of, or damage to, any persons property or vehicle, whilst on the premises or in the Car Park. All property, vehicles and personal effects are on the premises entirely at your own risk.

10 Website – Every effort has been made to ensure that all advertised details are correct. The Proprietors of Abernethy Bunkhouses cannot accept responsibility for errors or misinterpretations

11 Pets – Please contact us with regard to our policy on pets.

12 Lost Property When possible we will alert the Group leader to any items found. When we receive the postage we will send it immediately.
If no contact is made one month after the item is found we will dispose of it appropriately

13 Data Protection – Please let us know if you do not wish us to keep your address on file. We do NOT pass any details on, we keep them purely for the mutual convenience of our customers and ourselves.
