Car travel is the most flexible option for travel to Nethy Bridge as this gives easy access to the many activities in and around the area. Approximate travel times: Edinburgh & Glasgow - 2 hrs 30 mins, Cairnryan - 4 hrs 30 mins, Manchester - 6hrs.
Trust Google maps, until you get close!
If you are travelling up from England - then please do not feel tempted to travel up the East Coast through Edinburgh - unless you want to stop there for the day! Even from the North of England cross over on the A66 and take the M6!
From the A1/A66 junction to Perth on the M6 is estimated by Google to be 3hrs 40mins & 210 miles, most of which is motorway.
If you do the East Coast - it is stunning along the coast - but 3 hrs 55 mins & 212 miles - but that is the way the trucks go!
The most direct route on the map through Jedburgh, a mere 194 miles is Google at 4 hrs 1 min! Trust Google - it is correct! Except... read on about Satellite navigation & E-mapping!
The best route to PH25 3DN
From South or North West, please drive via Boat of Garten as directed by the road signs.
Electronic maps or Satellite Navigation units might direct you across a weight restricted wooden bridge! It is a very narrow road and if you are in a coach you are unable to turn around. Some groups have had an extra 25 minutes added to their journey because of this. Those coming in from the East need not worry!
From Boat of Garten
Drive into Nethy Bridge past the football pitch and the Post Office on your right and straight over the bridge.
Cars & Minibuses:
Turn Left immediately over the bridge and Right into Nethy House
or
Carry on past the butcher and take the second right turn (both unmade tracks!) for the Station.
Coaches: Go over the bridge and turn right before the hotel. Then, immediately stop!
Reverse into Nethy House back across the road!
